Phil, what I do for the big areas, is use wax paper like from cooking, and duct tape, I back the wax paper with cardboard to retain the shape of the hull then start laying in the woven roving first, then follow with a few layers of mat!!!
Each layer is just a bit bigger then the first, Want to get as much surface resined back in with as much matt touching new areas, makes it kinda strong that way also!!
