Taking your preference one step further, I always thought those big vans with 'air' and 4x4 + Mudders tucked under them were the ultimate "...SUV...". They had a lot of those out in CO, which were customized locally I believe.
They'd make for a pretty cool dirt biking 'campster'. You could roll in some astroturf, load the bikes-chow-beer-sleepingbags-etc. and head up to Rampart Range in the hog backs south of Denver for a weekend of bumps, thumps and brats on the Bar-B.
Take 'em home and unload 'em, and off to work you go...!! With that big honkin' V8 in there, you could tote one helluva boat to the pond, also.
You know, I may just look one of those up for a "..fixer-upper.." project for next winter. Perhaps I can get Jesse James to give me a few hints as a consultant. Wooooo woooo....!!

Funny thing excel...Just recently the manufacturers have been coming out with extra long van bodies that have an EXTRA LONG WHEELBASE in keeping with the body.
When these start showing up at auctions...there will be my next truck.
