BEIJING (AP) -- Tom Online Inc., a Chinese Internet and wireless services company, said Monday it will be the sole wireless distributor for Warner Brothers in China -- offering the U.S. movie studio's games and animation to Chinese cell-phone users. ADVERTISEMENT
Tom Online's Web portal will now include an official Warner Brothers Studios site, and the two companies will work together to create and distribute Warner products in advanced wireless formats, Tom Online said Monday.
In the last quarter of 2004, Tom Online had more than 60 million paid wireless users, the company said.
"The Chinese marketplace has extremely sophisticated tastes when it comes to online and wireless technologies," said Jim Noonan, senior vice president and general manager of Warner Bros. Online, in a prepared statement.
"Tom Online's expertise and reach in this robust marketplace will enable us to maximize both promotional and revenue-generating opportunities," he added.
