Thank you GEO928... finally someone putting some sense in this board. As much as I love solar technology, the United States gov doesn't have the will to implement such technology on a massive level.
Countries like China, Germany, Italy and now even Japan, are and will be the leaders in the solar world. It seems like oil is getting a boost from the US gov, including a big push for offshore drilling.
Obama even reduced the regulations for clean air... http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bs-ed-obama-epa-20110907,0,7067572.story.

As for SSOL... good luck if we even pass 0.011

Of course, the company as it is now will not be @ one dollar, they just started up. (This is their first year public) They only have one facility with about 30 workers now. The point made here for some time has been that SSOL is showing growth possibilities and plans. Their stated plan is to open many new facilities with a much larger work force that will allow them to complete many more contracts bringing in a much greater income. Those who buy at these low prices and hold may do very well.

You should update from the last 10-Q, not from a report two years ago. The number authorized shares is now 1.5 billion and outstanding will soon be about 1 billion. The EPS went from a negative .0009 to the positive side of .00. This is not including several contracts since. The average PPS reflexes potential earnings 15 times the EPS, so at .10 EPS the PPS could easily be at $1.50. Solar was initiated years ago, but big oil lobbies pushed them out. Solar energy is being improved upon every day and becoming cheaper and cheaper and eventually subsidies will not be necessary. You sited one company Obama supported with a bias motive and they did not keep up with R&D and sited China as the reason for their failure. Not all solar companies can achieve success like not all oil companies will achieve success. SSOL has an outstanding R&D department and have the backing of several partners including the largest wind/solar company in China. I suggest you do some updated DD and get back to me in a year.

I find it interesting that the link you posted only relates to SSOL because it is in the same industry. You didn't see fit to mention that the money people behind the failed company gave large political donations to President Obama during the last election.
You ignored the fact that SSOL is now showing a profit. Which IMO, is very positive for such a new company. You also ignored the fact that SSOL has established a steady stream of monthly income. In fact you ignored all of the positives.
Most likely you have made a few dollars by trading short. Good for you. But in the long haul, those of us who are long, will see the better day.
