they both descended from a common ancestor. the parent species wasn't as well as adapted and died out. they didn't evolve into something... something evolved FROM them.
Well Jesus was not born of a virgin in any biblical sense nor did he walk on water unless it was a puddle and people thought is was deeper. But then people were very ignorant back then which is amazing why people would want to follow what people thought was true back then.
