how can they stop you from selling? if you own shares, how in the world could they stop you from dumping them?

I don't see that analogy at all and i know i am no expert here but that reasoning just doesn't make sense to me.

Is that legal? I don't understand how the company can halt trading becouse some one wants to cash in there stock! That doesn't seem legal at all!!!
