gfp: The government no longer even tries to mask it's true nature. Take the case of S&P. The rating agency finally tries to be partially honest and downgrades US Debt. Less than 2 weeks later the Justice Department announces they are going after S&P for its role in rating the sub prime mortgage securutes as AAA and contributing to the 2008 market crash and collapse of the housing bubble. A week later the CEO of S&P is forced out and they put in the COO of technically insolvent CITI. What a signal to send to the other rating agencies...I highly doubt Moody's missed the message. We won't be seeing US Debt rated anything but AAA until the day the US declares itself insolvent. And do you think Dominique Strauss-Kahn got a message from his week in Rikers Island? Any obstacle or threat is silenced, discredited, arrested on dubious evidence, etc. This ain't the America our parents and grandparents once knew, in more ways than one. It is a kleptocracy, plain and simple. A corrupt Banana republic with lots and lots of flat screen TV's and I-Phones to keep the human livestock entertained 24/7...
