If i rember correctly if you buy at the ask it shows up as a sell because someone sold it for what they wanted If you get it at the bid it is a buy because you bought it for what you wanted.
Much of today's volume has been buying. Unfortunately, every one is sitting at the bid or less waiting for there orders to fill. If you as a buyer only only willing to pay the bid or less for your shares, what do you think is going to happen to the PPS throughout the day?
Want the PPS to go up? Buy and sell at the ask. People will not do that though. It's human nature to try and get an even better deal. However, don't complain about a declining PPS on a low volume day if you are one of these people sitting at the bid or less with an order.
