MON, SYT, DD need to develop a corn root system that goes deep enough to strike moist soil or even aquifers, like the roots of alfalfa. Yours ago, my wife and I harvested 4 crops of alfalfa/year
on our little plot of 30 acres in S.Dak.---the aquifer was ~8 feet down from surface.
