It's hard for me to understand why JK did not address the criticism from the Swifties when it first surfaced. Along with Kerry's YALE record are flattering letters from the very Swifties who profited from criticising him during the '04 election. For a seasoned pol like Kerry, I am surprised he didn't perceive the damage of that smear campaign. Thanks to Karl Rove's style of sound-bite campaigning, enough voters fell for the Rep line making the real loser the under educated voter who fell for Rep sound bites - and still do.
