OT - "Naked" short selling is selling shares that are not available to borrow.

Sometimes market makers will do this to provide needed liquidity to the marketplace which is legal.

Hedge funds have been accused of naked short selling to manipulate prices which is illegal.

Anyone who is "retail" and claims to be naked shorting something is probably full of sh*t or is a huge roller that has offshore accounts where he can sell shares without any borrows.

Of course, as I stated in the previous post there are shares to short of DPDW, so why would someone claim to be naked shorting when there are shares available to borrow? You have to have $2.50 per share shorted as a maintenance margin which makes it uneconomical to try to do this sort of thing unless you have several hundred thousand dollars laying around not being used for anything.
