Shoot! Louie this can't be!

"Subcontracting work, often to larger nonveteran companies, was the primary reason for a veteran-owned business to be deemed ineligible for contracts, according to the IG report. Rules vary by the type of contract, but a small business cannot simply pass work on to another business after collecting a fee."

God how could they? They are veterans for crying out loud!

"Some veterans also are not what they seem. The report says one company that claimed to be owned by a disabled veteran received $340,000 in contracts for duct cleaning. The “disabled veteran,” however, served only five weeks in the Marine Corps before being discharged because of an injury received in an off-duty football game. He had never filed a service-connected disability claim."

Are they in there?
"To keep track of qualified veteran-owned businesses, the VA uses VetBiz.gov. VA officials can refer to the database when considering set-aside contracts or sole-source contracts, which have no cap."

That is good news.....If the contractors start seriously reviewing the status of DVOSB's and throwing out the ones that are not eligible, we should have a much better chance of winning contracts.
