10 years is a bit dramatic, IMO. People need to realize that we never got out of the 1st recession. The stabilization we saw was bandages to deeper wounds that are now becoming much more apparent. However, I am confident that we will pull out of this. I work for a major player in the financial world and personally can see the light at the end of the tunnel, although the tunnel is long, just not 10 years long as you stated.
Play the market smartly, yet be cautious and know when the time is right on both sides of the spectrum.
