You should, simply because you don't know who has been selling or why they have been selling. For Momenta to decline almost 30% over the last 30 days is not only surprising, but it goes 100% against the news positive news flow.
There are plenty of other high quality companies that have gone down as much or more than 30% just over the past 7-8 trading days. I could careless who is selling especially when everything is being dumped and nothing has fundamentally changed with respect to Momenta. When the weak hands throw in the towel I'll be there buying and I assume a number of others on this board will be doing the same.
Sooner or later, and I'm guessing it'll be sooner, the individual investor… is going to throw in the towel. They don't have the stomach to keep on getting their rumps kicked.
That’s exactly what many people were saying in Mar 2009.
For the record, this is what I was saying then (#msg-35980601):
Today may be the proverbial day of capitulation when hordes of people decide they don’t want to own any stocks and sell everything.
If you have dry powder, you can buy shares of myriad fine companies at prices that haven’t been seen in a long, long time.
For the record, this is what you were saying then (#msg-35985153):
…when the biggest and brightest investors (Buffet, KKR, etc) are taken out to the woodshed every day for a spanking it certainly doesn't give anyone confidence that they can win in this environment.
