show me an instance where a biotech company has voluntarily laid off manufacturing staff to resolve a short-term issue that had nothing to do with the demand for the company’s products. I don’t think it’s ever happened.
And I agree that the above challenge about 'not being related to demand' is the right challenge - albeit unfairly limited to biotech.

GENZ's problem was a production problem (an FDA-mandated plant shutdown), not a demand problem. Keep looking.
