Long, CORRECTION,the greatest SALMON runs and PRODUCTION are in ASIA. They run into a country called RUSSIA,MONGOLIA,JAPAN,all of that VAST ASIAN CONTINENT in the Northern hemisphere. TRILLIONS of TRILLIONS of SALMON filling rivers and lakes and streams. ALASKA is just a DEMO modle of what SALMON fishing is. REAL fishermen goto ASIA EAST COAST for real SALMON fishing. GOOG this is your in the need to know. On another note once fertile eggs hatch, they canreturn to that site in the end of their LIFE for spawning. MOST of this FISH story is a HOAX, HYPE here. IMO: JOKE as SALMON can be moved to even a FISH farm and they will return in the end to a FISH FARM, so all of this SALMON CRAP in the PEBBLE is just that CRAP.
