And right to the left of that article, it shows how Bob Gillam was made to pay a $100,000 fine for improper donations to those who are opposing the Pebble mine. (ALBEIT AN OLDER EDITORIAL FROM LAST YEAR)
Hmmmm....they are getting to the root of all of this ANTI-PEBBLE business. IT KEEPS GOING THOUGH, LIKE AN ENERGIZER BUNNY
I think the STATE will see through all of this...and I am sure they have been made aware of the "OVER 100" years of employment and the HUGE infrastructure improvements that will be made.
They don't call Alaska "America's Final Frontier" for nothing.
The state needs to be developed...that is why WE AMERICAN's bought it from Russia 54 years ago....so "WE AMERICAN's" can use the resources which it provides.
Why would those who live in that lakes and borough's area be able to control "STATE LANDS" that were set ASIDE for "MINING AND DEVELOPMENT"
As Pkingyukon would say - the state has to be way smarter than this....multi-millions of dollars have been expended. The state has accepted lease/claims payments for YEARS for the lands to be developed JUST as they are doing.
Can they "welch" on their deals ??? I don't think so. Talk about a LAWSUIT now....with these pretend greenies (backed by the lodge owners and other SELFISH multi-millionaires)
I think it is the same type of dog and pony show being forced by scumbag attorneys who are capitalizing on the SHOW BIG TIME.
What a waste of taxpayer money. What a waste of human dignity....attorney's who sue.
