Dan3: Missing the point as usual...
I'm not talking about ordering a new system. That's easy enough though I sure would hate to upgrade an old system. I am talking about the printers, the cameras, scanners, and assorted ageing crap that many people want to plug in to that new system. I am talking about why no consumer in his right mind is gonna jump on the 64 bit bandwagon this early. A technodweeb like you might experiment with it...but you are the minority by far. Thank god:)
For the enterprise desktop sector there is ZERO benefit and no reason to switch from Win XP. Microsoft certainly isn't targeting that.
Expect relatively few desktop or notebook systems to go out with Win XP 64 this year. And I don't see it getting much better next year...
