Re: Dan and Dougie seem to be trolling alot lately. I guess they are scared:)

Of course they are! AMD could be selling the most competitive products in the history of the company, if they could only get them out the door. Problem is, they can't. My guess is that AMD got the Turion recipe wrong (given that the lower power transistors are new) and yields are terrible. This required another stepping, which delayed shipments by several months. Meanwhile, in spite of all the eager assertions that X2 parts are as easy to make as 130nm K8, it's probably not.

These problems will eventually be solved, but until then Intel is being upgraded by all the analysts for substantial revenue upsides in the mobile space. This pretty much points to the shortages being completely demand based. Centrino is a HOT item. I know a lot of people ready to upgrade their home computer and want a laptop instead. I think it's the beginning of a new inflection point, and Intel definitely has the stronger part, even after Turion ships.

So yes Dan and Dougie are running scared. It simply does not compute with their Droidian logic.

It seems worse than that. All the sites that the droids claim are shipping Turion all say, "take a number" and we'll get back to you later with a ship date.

AND those that give specs talk about 8 lbs. "thin and lights"; and nobody is taking battery life.

And those that are saying "take a number", the majority are screwdriver shops.

AND it is worse than that: Amd announced that Turions were "shipping for revenue" in December of 2004.

Since this is 2005, in droid speak that would be a "year's delay". :))
