iOS5 is currently in use via "beta"

and- speculation around iPhone 5 is Sept

I can't confirm- but am almost positive- that Apple releases the software updates before the new device with a window of a few weeks minimum usually- if not longer.

I think we'll see the iOS5 release by mid-August.

Why iOS5? My iphone4 with iOS4 works very well with all applications using GPS (such as Tomtom, etc).

How can we develop an application for iOS5 while it's not available yet?

I think OPMG is testing its application for iphone, and will announce once it's ready. I think if it works, it would work fine on iOS4 also.
