Shank, you and me both know this would have dropped well below .04 if anything was fishy here.

Big money is playing this one, there were nice gains on monday and some took profits, now its back at support and when the big numbers come in over the weekend, you can expect an even bigger run.

The foundation is here,no doubt there will be bumps in the road as they clean up their financials. But I'd think you would admit with the hype this movie is generating, the momo next week should raise the pps to new heights, that's usually what moves these penny stocks, all about the momo. Now throw in the nice consolidation at this level and the launch pad is set for a new pps high, jmo.

Well said shank...

That's exactly what is going on here. But hey, if you point out the ugly truth here you are labeled a basher and reported to the SEC and Brian Altounian is going to sue your for defamation.

Platinum receives bonuses based on box office dollars, I think box office dollars and ticket sales are the same, unless box office dollars are achieved in another way that I never heard of. Marvel also gets box office bonuses, same thing, once again, yes Marvel gets higher numbers and higher percentages, but the contracts work the same way. Just because the financials are a bit chewed on at this point doesn't mean Platinum is in a different business than Marvel, that's flawed logic. Platinum is just now getting the ball rolling this year, Marvel put out their first good comic movie over 10 years ago, hell they filed bankruptcy in 1996. I'm sure you know all this though, good try, I'm smarter than the average bear ;)

Gotta go with you on most of that. PDOS is not the same as Marvel, not even close. However they do have some nice IP and 2 movies in dev at Disney so the future looks very good. I do not see them developing IP in house like Marvel does but they are good at networking and acquiring. If you look at http://www.scifigenre.com/itemDetail.aspx?sid=YV0WMRRG0R0HY0W&nItemID=101391
and do a search on that site you will see that Platinum Studio doesn't pop up a single time via name, and IT books is the publisher for Cowboys & Aliens. Not saying Platinum isn't involved or maybe owns IT or gets a lionshare cut etc but the name recognition is not to the Marvel level. That's good for us if you believe they have good IP as we can get in early, bad for us if you don't believe there is good IP there as there is little awareness as of yet.

I do find it very interesting the prices for used edition Cowboys & Aliens books are being listed at...
http://www.amazon.com/Cowboys-Aliens-Fred-Van-Lente/dp/158240724X
...and there the publisher is listed as Image Comics.

Point being that Platinum Studios is a virtual unknown in the comic game whereas Marvel is *the* powerhouse in that industry with DC second, and Image a distant 3rd. All the other comic book companies combined fail to make the revenue matching DC or Marvel, here's the June report
http://www.diamondcomics.com/public/default.asp?t=1&m=1&c=3&s=237&ai=110838&ssd=

And those other comic book companies have more visibility in that industry than Platinum does which doesn't even come up in a search of Diamond Previews (the comic book publishing distributor that virtually all retailers order from).

The benefit of this stock is the future prospects of movie development and IP acquisition with a view towards more movie development and merchandising in my opinion. Not publishing or IP creation. So comparing to Marvel is not the best comparison... but this is a company that could easily be bought out by Marvel. Overall PDOS is well positioned for success on many levels and this Cowboys and Aliens movie is a huge step towards that.
