extelecom, in the prehistorical, DOS era, I've used a DOS program called PFROI from TechServe or somesuch, to keep track of my transactions; it was a very well written program. Since I did not day-trade then, I can't recall if it adjusted for wash sales, but SS were no problem for it. All transactions had to be recorded manually, though... Maybe we should see what happened to it...
GainsKeeper costs $150 to process 1000 individual transactions, which means that if your orders are broken into a few lots, as it happens with almost all my orders, it costs a buck a round trip, an expensive proposition.
