Agreed. The article alone is beginning to get overhyped imo. The contract comes into effect tomorrow, but that doesn't mean we'll know anything about it!
To Savwatt followers: Keep in mind that Savwatt representatives have emphasized in the past that they are new and creating PRs is expensive for them at this point. Feel positive and strong that Savw is putting funds and energy towards operations and startup and not a stream of PRs that would temporarily raise for a higher pps and capital that they do not intend to touch if they can help it (ie their investor money.)
The opening ceremony is on it's way. Patience will pay off.
You need to get the complete understanding from LSG's article. They are only replacing " existing " lighting according to the PR release.
With all the other applications the DC area ( or any other city for that fact ) has to update or add to, SavWatt has many applications around the city where their product(s) will work without the need to run additional power sources to supply them.
Many cities already talking about solar and wind generated lighting. Calif. is another huge proponent of wind and solar projects.
I would consider that phase of deployment to be where SavWatt will " shine " !!
