That sounds great, until, as Indy pointed out, they need to move things faster, and faster, cheaper, and cheaper, to make more and more money.

Funny that the entire argument was that the FAA's current policies are the limiting factor in speed and that updating their multi-decade old technology infrastructure would significantly reduce these inefficiencies.

Also, what you just said could have been taken word-for-word from Marx's prediction of the eventual fall of Capitalism.

Did you bother to read the entire article? I hardly see how this plan would lead to safety problems for the consumer. All it proposes is an independent overseeing body that would govern the FAA and make sure they were running as efficiently as possible. Not quite my dream, but a step in the right direction.
