How long will it take to get your shares transfered and ready to trade again. Any Idea.

My guess Scottrade will only allow sells and no buys in the stock in this stiuation which is a huge diservice to their account holders that prefer the long side of plays IMO.

Transfers in volitile stocks can take time and sometimes the answer will be that they attempted the transfer but can not complete it due to certain risks to the receiving account.

Another strategy in this situation that requires dry powder is to fund the account you wish to transfer to with enough capital to match the equity in the stock you want to transfer and simply sell the stock in the old account to replace the capital you funded your account with and simultaneously buy the shares back in the new account. Of course, gains and losses with regards to tax liability should be considered separately for all individual decisions.

I once attempted a transfer between brokerage accounts on a pinksheet stock that was volitile and the attempted transfer drove the price of the stock up while daytraders on the board took note of the attempt with their in depth level 2s and played it for money!

I watched the comments on the board without saying a word as the pps acsended due to the mechanics of the process and then subsided when the transfer attempt was aborted. On the board in question they called out the number of shares that were trying to be matched which was precisely my transfer amount. When the attempt was aborted I got the message in my new account that they could not complete the transfer because of the risk involved on that issue.

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes in the stockmarket that the average and even above average traders are kept in the dark about. Experience is the ultimate master.

IMO, there is enough upside to this hot new Ecig sector for all in it to make money regardless of the setbacks that no living breathing business in the world avoids forever any more than you and I can avoid death and taxes. However, that shouldn't stop anyone or any entity from the pursuit of success and happiness in the game of life.
