Very true, I've been reading that only about 10% of our bombs were actually "smart" during Desert Storm, whereas something like 80-90% would be smart now. In fact, they are smarter. Last time around the smart bombs were equipped to follow laser beams pointed at targets, but they were of minimal use during overcast weather or dusty conditions. The smart bombs now use a GPS homing device that are not effected by weather conditions.

Of course, the usefulness of that kind of weaponry will be minimized if the Red Guard actually draws US forces into street fighting. And I agree with mlsoft's comments from a few posts ago, that even if the best scenario plays out, the relief for the markets is likely to be only temporary. A positive resolution in Iraq will not erase the current account deficit, or problems with valuation, etc.

Sure hope Saddam splits though.
