#3861 RE: Amaunet #3860

<<Turkey gets to be an energy supermarket if they go along with the Kurdish state? Since we need Turkey's allegiance, Turkey will have to be given something big, I am wondering if this is it and more importantly will Turkey consider this an even trade? >. The fear/hostility/tension/long ugly history between Turks and Kurds is not a deal away from any "peace-pipe,pow-wow" imo.
It is not the Kurds of Iraq that give the Turks the "willies", it is the 10million Kurds living in Turkey that lay claim to virtually all eastern Turkey.
Turks discourage even calling them Kurds, they like to hear term, "The Turkish Mountain People"
The Kurds would have to betray their ownselves to turn against the separatist Kurds in Turkey, as they see those 10million(over twice the number of Iraqi Kurdistan) as being all a part of the real KURDISTAN.
Beneath the Kurdish politicians remains a very strong nationalist movement that i feel is much bigger than their politicians.
So no i do not see Turkey seeing it as an even trade as they fear ANY Kurdish State would then simply claim Turkish Kurdistan has their own.
