The news release said it was paid in full. That is the second debt paid this month. One to a few of the board members that lent the company money and to Lonza for services in helping them in the FDA process.
If I were to make a guess, I'd say the company is paying off these debts so that when they get the approval they won't be beholden to anyone. Less hands in the pot trying to sue for rights.
