Some US houses won't let you use limit orders - #msg-564510 ... this makes it impossible to get the best returns, which imho come from careful stink bidding during times like late Nov through Dec, or secondarily the deep of summer, or various stock-specific times through the year .... a good broker is a joy indeed, and those who are able to use and have tried Pennaluna tend to speak highly of it - http://www.penntrade.com

What do you pay for commissions trading canuck through Fidelity? .... this whole topic would make a thread imho, i started one up one time, called 'Crossing Borders', but the forum died ... doesn't matter what border you cross in which direction, the costs will be higher and the regs more arcane .... canuckistanis get hosed crossing the 49th going south, too, not to the same extent because so many of us do trade US, but we pay more for it than messing around at home ..... and there's no good reason for that - a house that set itself up to efficiently cross borders could capture a large market, i think

Especially as the gold bull advances, some of these things are going to attract considerable attention ... and the g.w.n. remains the world capital of mining finance, things just developed up that way ... trick is, for the longer term speculator, to identify the home-run contenders, buy the right ones here north of the 49th, on the bid during the slow times when folks are shovelling them out the door, and then feed the offer when they're listed in the US, being ballyhooed to the sky

There has to be business opportunity in this for some forward-looking brokerage, eh

oeo2oo,

I've finally found someone who is more bullish than I, and possibly with good reason. He, as I, believe that the Chinese "connection" potentially adds a whole new dimension to the demand side of the Au equation......

It's a repeat of an earlier post on the "Zeev's Turnips - No Politics" thread, where I usually hang out, and I sincerely hope some here will find it worth their time. enjoy.

The catch-all disclaimer of "tell will tell" comes to mind........ <gg>

Happy everything,
