In some ways I agree with g cole, because in fact the world has suffered the effects of partitioning the ottoman and british empires. Why the eastern area of turkey was made part of turkey I do not know. why the northern kurdish part of Iraq was made part of iraq I do not know. why the pushtans were separated in Afganistan and Pakistan I think I know. the brits did a good job of separating endiginous (spell?) peoples so they could eternally be apart.
It would obviously make great sense to make a new kurdistan out of northern iraq and western turkey, but the one turk I have talked to about says no no its been part of turkey for so long we will never give it up.
In Paksitan, all the natural resources and hydro power come from the pushtan territories along the border with Afganistan, so Pakistan wanted this area.

why did the brits give meccca and medina to the Saudis after ww1? it has always been the Sheriff who took care of that area. Did the brits discover oil in the Saudis inner area?
