I believe that the technology is real or else they (the patent office) would not have issued an unpublished patent number. (there are very strict and strenuous process to get a patent number issued)
the reason IMHO that the "Description" of the technology was so cryptic and some may believe it's not real is due to the company Carmil Energy had to keep things cryptic to keep others from figuring out how the technology works.
