Richard, When one creates great harm to other societies in the pursuit of profits and resources it doesn't really make much difference if one uses a sledgehammer themselves or a surrogate. The damage done can be the same and the hands are still dirty. Subtle is the name of the game now but the dirt is the same. As to grief I was intending that to mean one families grief is the same when their loved one is lost. It makes little difference whether their loved died with many others in the WTC or was a victim of the DC sniper. Except of course the Feds are paying big bucks to the families of the WTC victims. Something stinks in Venezuela, is that the CIA again? Whether it is or not we will be blamed by many in South America because it fits the pattern of our behaviour towards those folks. I've had this discussion with brainlessone and am not going to go over it all again. We need to quit hurting others or we will see more and far worse 9/11s.

I guess then I also missed the news report where anyone else is doing that to US. So why then when anyone harms an American we hear "death to all"? Mabe that should give you an idea what Palestinians must be thinking when a 11-year old innocent boy or a 9-year old innocent girl or a 2 year old baby, are killed at the hands of the IDF. And I'm sure Israelis must feel the same for the Israelis that have been killed at the hands of the Palestinian freedom fighters. All in all quite a mess. But from our side, quite a one sided mess... and quite hypocritical.
