#1631 RE: extelecom #1627

extelecom, You stated, "I also find it extremely illogical for anyone posting on this thread too in any way compare what is happening in Israel / Palestine, or Afghanistan to the planned genocide that occured by the Germans in WWII against their own people and others."
Many times I have referenced the horrors wrought upon civilians by the US government. I have mentioned the Dresden firebombing specifically. My only reason for these references is that when one takes these actions it makes it rather difficult to criticize others who take equally reprehensible actions such as the civilian bombings committed by Palestinians. On the other hand military technology has advanced to such a degree that it is essentially impossible for "freedom fighters" to even ambush such targets. If King George III had F-16's, laser guided bombs, M1-A1 tanks and apache attack helicopters do you maybe wonder what Mr. Washington's targets might have been? Torys and their families? I just foolishly wish that all of us could quit killing one another and use some of the vast wealth expended to this purpose for the betterment of all.

You are incorrect. First of all #msg-641894 was a reply to a message that tried to show that Palestinian killing is not as bad. What I tried to show was that comparing quantity of killings is a fruitless exercise. The fact is that the occupation, suppression and killing of Palestinians is wrong and no more or less wrong that innocent Israelis. Just as wrong as any other occupation and suppression of any other people.

From message #msg-641894
"So do you compare to who killed the most because you've killed less? You might as well then start comparing...."

There is no more or less killing that is right as the original poster tried to portray on message #msg-641875

BTW, people are comparing available 1940s military technology to the military technology that exists today. The fact is that freedom fighters will do everything that is necessary to inflict damage to an occupied force. When weapon technology was equally available to both like in the 1940s, it was much easier to strike military targets and inflict damage. With current one sided military technology that is no longer an option. If the Palestinians had equivalent Israeli technology then that would be a different story.
