Yes, the heavy denser materials will gather in greater quantity. If you rember I said that you could easily move 1 yard of overburden to have 2 yards of black sand as the river has washed away most of the lighter materials which are at the top. This is why experienced dredgers will work where ther is or has been a reasonable flow of water. Dont fight nature, use it to your advantage
