I've actually studied and researched naked shorting and hedge funds. I can't say it has anything to do with this company.

I'm actually more interested in non-penny, non-pinks, where I think abuses are more apt to be remedied with all the current debate.

However, since you bring it up, apparently it exists and the theory, contrary to your post, is that if they can short a penny stock to 0 and never have to cover, you have a huge percentage gain. (yes, that's a simplification.)

This typically happens when you have billions of shares o/s and it may involve a combination of crooked management, touts, MM's and perhaps hedge funds.

I have no idea about whether it applies here. I was only responding to someone who suggested it and I said "it wouldn't surprise me."
