Don't have the spec with me so I am not sure what the 'gold standard' would be. Also would expect different types of BORK Armor, would require they be tested to the 'required specification' level.
For example, strike plates for Body armor would be a different thickness or configuration, than the armor for protecting the STRATS vehicle.
Therefor the strike plates for Body Armor would need to pass a NIJ level four cert process and the armor plating for the STRATS vehicle, [presumably a different thickness and or configuration]would need a level six NIJ certification.
HAVING SAID that, the c'aviate is if the armor for the body armor and the STRATS vehicle are of the same thickness/configuration, then the Level six certification would cover both. . . THE CONFIGURATION WOULD NEED TO BE SIMILIAR/SAME for the level six to work for both.
