Why do you think it would be "profit irrelevant" to health care companies? I imagine it will include a broader version of the indemnity that they gave to Lilly[?] in the Homeland Security bill. Why not indemnify all pharmaceutical companies from being held liable for mistakes they might make? Their goal, after all, is to help people, to cure them, not to make them sick, and shouldn't they be given the benefit of the doubt given their noble goal? After all, think of the boost that would give to future drug research, think of the good that all these new drugs would do, think of how quickly they could come to market if the companies didn't have to think about the scumbag leech trial lawyers who are always grubbing for a buck at the expense of the real producers of the economy.
