The word Buddha...means .." The One who Woke up"
There are a number of Buddhist Traditions...
but all of them have 'Awakening' as the Core Intention...
so ..while a standard of ethics is taught...
Right speech..Right livelihood
Right concentration..(meditation)..Right understanding...Right effort..ect
the focus is to 'Link Back' to the Source of Being..
In the same fashion that Jesus said,,"The Kingdom of Heaven is within..."
Buddhist 'Practice'(meditation,,right speech......) sets one on the Path to Realization..( the Experience) of Who we really Are......
The word..'God' is seldom if ever used in Buddhism...because the Concept of God...seems to be the problem among the worlds Religions...
'If' the Experience of The Divine ( The Heavenly Abodes ..in Buddhist terms) were common place...
Harming..in its many forms... would be non existant
