MSFT is just following Apple's lead - closed and proprietary.
That's stupid, because Apple owns a platform, while MSFT does not.
No one's going to fault Apple for only supporing 'i' devices, but the rest of the industry won't be happy with MSFT for excluding them on the next version of Windows.
I guess some OEM's will just have to enable Android/Chrome/Meego in 2012. Kind of nice if you're Intel and support all of these. :-)
It has to be innovative too which it has never been good at and is probably best left to as many hardware partners it can get not limiting them. This kind of colossal hubris is how Empires die.
