Hi plexxus: I've often found that to be true with the futures; a future will come down sharply, you see a lot of tossing in of the towels, heavy volume and then a nice counter move on light volume.
Keep in mind the 200 day ema for the COMPQ is about 4 points above the 200 day sma, and the DT line from the 2 yearly highs is about 2 pts. above that.
2006 needs to be taken out on rising volume, IMO, to be real bullish, and I don't see a catalyst for this going into summer.
Might be supporting your contention, if it keeps above its 14 DMA. Next few days will tell. The 36 or so level s surely sufficient for a bottom, but in the past it has gone lower.
