A Cusip change will do absolutely nothing. It's been tried many many times. No MOASS (Mother Of All Short Squeezes) will ever happen here. The MM's will never be forced to cover any illegally shorted shares. You know why? Because never in the history of the stock market, has FINRA, or the SEC or anyone ever forced any MM or broker to cover any Illegally shorted shares. Ever. Never. So for those of you who are counting on it, sorry, ain't gonna happen. :(
