I don't want drilling in Alaska but it's not because I live there. It's because we need to not only preserve our wild places, but also because we need to move to other types of energy. The less we rely on oil, the less we depend on imports and the less we need to tear up our own country trying to eliminate a very small percentage of those imports. Don't get me started on people who buy an big 8 cylinder SUV only because they wouldn't feel as cool or powerful driving a station wagon or a minivan....
