On the radio today I heard parts of the lecture that Tariq Ali gave at Stanford University April 25th. **Definitely worth a listen**. One of the most interesting things he said was that behind closed doors the heads of State in Iran say to other Arab leaders that the U.S. cant possibly invade Iran. Supposedly because Iran is heavily involved in helping the U.S. fight the insurgents in Iraq. So much so that if Iran withdrew its help we would see a dramatic escalation in loss of U.S. and Iraqi soldiers well above what we see today. He gave no details and said that virtually no press anywhere has written about these covert deals.
