DETROIT (AP) -- Compuware Corp. agreed to buy Adlex Inc., a Massachusetts firm that helps large companies manage and evaluate their technology services, for $36 million. Compuware said Monday it had signed a definitive agreement with Adlex and would close on the deal in the near future. About 80 employees from privately held, Marlborough, Mass.-based Adlex will join Detroit-based Compuware as a result of the acquisition.

Adlex describes itself as a pioneer of technology that allows Internet service providers and enterprise customers to diagnose and manage quality of service. The company runs European operations from Gdansk, Poland.
Compuware, a software and business services company, said Adlex's technology complements its own Vantage product line.
Shares of Compuware fell 13 cents to close at $6.27 in Monday trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
