"In the 8th grade I asked Sherri to dance. She chose another. It still pains."

Really? Sherri in 8th grade? For someone as good as you are at letting go of a bad trade I'm surprised you still hold on to this little social embarrassment. Sounds like another avenue to explore with the head shrinker, good old Doc what's his name. My understanding is that people don't remember pain, else no woman would have a second child. So maybe it's not as painful a memory as you are letting on, maybe it's a memory you savor. A streak of masochism?

Myself, having observed your discomfort with Sherri, avoided the psychic pain at the age, opting for lonely isolation until the playing field became more nearly level, which it inevitably did. And Sherri was stuck up anyway, not yet having come to the realization that 1/2 the people on the planet shared her fair sex.

Lee, you are correct about not all pain being transitory. Two gals in particular we asked out said yes.
The nighmares finally ended years later but the pain inflicted still lingers.

Sherri saying no may have done you the greatest of favours.

China stocks,
Nothing in 30 yrs prepared us for the degree of fraud that is turning up, auditors not doing there job [or in on the fraud?] which means numbers are often bogus which means FA is useless.
What a mess.
Probably won't ever buy a China stock again. Have not bought any in a long time.
The thought continues...sell every single one of them and start afresh with non-foreign investments? Remains a consideration.
It gets to feel like lottery not knowing if one owned will be out of the blue halted.
WATG halted near the close Fri. as a going into the weekend present.
Maybe come back and just do swing trading with those proceeds, a possibility. As it is, with nearly all long term b&H, all the trading skills, chart reading, IBD methods, are basically being wasted aside from ongoing commentary. Might not produce better results but would give more feeling of controlling the outcomes.

Have a great weekend Lee

Well, first off, Lee, Fabian is a big boy and can fight his own battles, he doesn't need you to stand up for him.

Secondly, I never said he wasn't good at what he does, except I believe he could have a better bottomline as a trader than an investor (Does Trader A have more fun than Trader B? You bet she does!).

Thirdly, pain IS transitory, Lee, but the scars incurred when the risk one takes doesn't yield the desired result never quite disappear. I've always considered the number of scars one can boast as a fairly accurate reflection of how well one has lived. . .
