#3543 RE: Amaunet #3539

<<According to Asia Times Online contacts in the south, the Lebanese Shi'ite militia Hezbollah has deeply infiltrated Basra and surrounding areas, so much so that it virtually runs the province, with the help of Shi'ite militias, and is committed to establishing vilayat-e-faqih (rule by the religious clergy according to the Shi'ite faith).>> it is very interesting they are targetting Basra----where all the southern Iraq Oil is located, also where basically the only occupational forces be the British and an area separated from Central Iraq by a desert.
They could start a Basra are separatist movement as Basra area i would intuite have no real affinity with the world of Baghdad.
It would be in their interest to separate, it would have popular support, only problem is U.S. would move to crush any such action, but how, any such action would inflame all the Shi'ite world, and they don't have Central/Northern Sunni Baathist to fight for them in Basra.
Right now Iran is quite aware we can't invade Iran because our troops are knee deep in Quagmire in Iraq.
O we are dealing with real military genius here--NOT!:)
Cripes the U.S. Military must be praying for a major recession in the U.S because that is the only way they can get a steady inflow into the Volunteer army.
Recruiters are now having major pressure to meet their quotas, they are being put in 'hustle, hustle, advertise, advertise, comb the ghettoes and the areas of poverty and get us volunteers, get them, promise them paradise, whatever, but get us recruits!'
No recession and they have got to go to a Draft.
Matters are moving slowly, but the reality is still clear for the future---- Bush has walked the U.S. into an abyss.
