dont forget we marched through the entire European Continent in the same time we are futzing in Iraq.

we marched through iraq in the same time that it took our WWII boys to deploy and ready themselves for d-day............and about as many WWII boys were killed after we declared victory in '45, as have been killed in the entire "iraqi freedom" mission.........i reckon it's just too damn convenient not to remember how long we were in germany and japan after WWII ended........gee, we're still in germany!

Wow.

I thought I had read the dumbest thing ever written tonight, but I hadn't. This takes the cake.

I'm not sure if it's even possible to explain things like this to someone who's written something as embarassingly stupid as what you just wrote, but here goes.

Hey boss, dont forget we marched through the entire European Continent in the same time we are futzing in Iraq. !!!!!!

About 1,600 Americans have lost their lives in Iraq.

About 405,000 Americans lost their lives in WWII.

That means, as of today, it would take 253 Iraq wars to equal the number of deaths we incurred during WWII while we were (according to you) just breezing through the European continent with ease. Hey, who cares that it would take 500 years to get to WWII's dead count, they're comparable, dammit!

The fact that we are "futzing" in Iraq, and by futzing you mean defending a democratic government that we set up in less than two years under the most difficult possible conditions in a place that had never seen democracy before, is only made possible by the fact that, for the second time in a two-year span, we deposed of a fairly large country's government in a matter of 3 weeks. By anyone's count who isn't brain dead, that's "an extremely effective all-volunteer army." If the US military is not "extremely effective," my God, how long would an extremely effective military take to take control of a large foreign country? A few hours?

How did we stop a genocide in Kosovo without a single casualty? How did we get trapped in Mogadishu, lose 19 soldiers, but kill hundreds of militiamen on the way out? How did we lose a few dozen soldiers in Fallujah, but kill several hundred terrorists? Gee, it's almost as if the evidence is saying our all-volunteer military is extremely effective. I didn't say omnipotent, I didn't say immune to the perils of asymmetrical warfare. Extremely effective. More powerful than any army in the world could ever hope to be.

Most of the rest of your incoherent dribble in this post is completely imaginary. A draft? Only the left even ever mentions a draft. Increasing deaths of American troops for "the next XX number of years"? How the hell do you know? You don't. You're ignorant.
