Every time you post this nonsense I post the preclinical papers published by Menon's team that shows how he took the base drug and quite literally invented the buffered compound that became Alimta and Gemzar. It's just that you refuse to recognize the papers becaue they don't actually say "Alimta" and "Gemzar" in them.
The base drug is useless if it can't be delivered in a safe form. The process of developing the base active ingredient into a safe drug form often involves invention since the solution to resolving toxicity and safety are not "obvious" but require a great deal of invention and testing. As a pharmacologist and certified toxicologist, that is exactly what Menon and his team did.
