AMD is so deep in x86. I wonder that Meyers was resisting ARM. Maybe he knew best.
I'm guessing that Meyers saw a fixed engineering design budget, and he didn't want to risk the company's execution by diverting resources to fund the brand new shiny object.
Maybe he underestimated the inflection point, or maybe he did know best.
At this point, I can see AMD replacing Bobcat with an ARM core and not disrupt the rest of their roadmap. However, I can't see AMD doing both from an execution standpoint, let alone designing both into a heterogeneous design.
It would not surprise to see AMD getting, ah, armed (already dangerous).

I picture a... let's say... mentally challenged person picking up a gun and starting to fire. There's more of a chance they end up shooting themselves, before actually hitting an intended target.
