I think I cause confusion by mis-using terms, so let me just describe what I've done for this one.

1. I figured the % of volume which advanced, using the following formula:

Adv Vol / (Adv Vol + Dec Vol + Unch Vol)

2. I figured out how much bigger (or smaller) the % Adv Vol was than the others by using the following formula:

% Adv Vol - (% Dec Vol + % Unch Vol)

3. Then I took a 21 day SMA of step 2 and plotted it over the comp closing price.
